How to properly install the shower head

Installing a Shower Head is a relatively simple process that can be done with basic tools. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to properly install a shower head:

1. Gather the necessary tools and materials: You will need a new shower head, plumber's tape (also known as Teflon tape), an adjustable wrench or pliers, and a cloth or rag.

2. Turn off the water supply: Locate the main water supply valve in your bathroom and turn it off. This will prevent water from flowing while you're installing the new shower head.
3. Remove the old shower head: Unscrew the existing shower head by turning it counterclockwise. You may need to use an adjustable wrench or pliers to loosen it. Once it's loose, you can remove it by hand.
4. Clean the Shower Arm: Use a cloth or rag to clean the threads of the Shower arm (the pipe that extends from the wall). This will ensure a proper seal with the new shower head.
5. Apply plumber's tape: Take the plumber's tape and wrap it clockwise around the threads of the shower arm. Make sure to cover the entire threaded area with at least two or three layers of tape. This will help create a watertight seal.
6. Attach the new shower head: Screw the new shower head onto the shower arm by turning it clockwise. Initially, you can do this by hand, but use an adjustable wrench or pliers to tighten it further. Be careful not to overtighten, as it may cause damage.

7. Test for leaks: Turn on the water supply and check for any leaks around the connections. If you notice any leaks, tighten the connections further or reapply plumber's tape to ensure a secure seal.
8. Adjust the shower head: Once the shower head is securely in place, you can adjust its angle or height according to your preference. Most shower heads allow for easy adjustment.
9. Clean up: Wipe away any excess water and clean up the area around the shower head.
